71Snowman Soup Poem Mug
Snowman Soup is a Fun, Easy, Inexpensive Holiday Gift
Looking for an easy and inexpensive Christmas gift idea? Try Snowman Soup!
Although Snowman Soup is really nothing more than a packet of hot chocolate paired with mini marshmallows and other "snowman pieces" and given in a gift mug, the poem you attach makes it a fun, easy and inexpensive gift for coworkers or others that you might want to recognize at the holidays without spending a lot. Kids also love it!
Here's a Snowman Soup "recipe" and poem. There are several variations of the poem on the web, but, oddly enough, none of them mentioned how the ingredients related to "snowman soup." So I wrote my own variation that explains the various pieces. I've included it here, as well as other variations of the poem below. (Note to all the English teachers: My apologies for using poor English in the last line of the poem. "Slowly" doesn't rhyme!)

Snowman Soup Recipe and Poem
The easiest way to make Snowman Soup is to use a bag of prepackaged hot cocoa mix, but you could also put a few teaspoons of cocoa mix in a plastic zip bag and use that instead.
Snowman Soup Recipe
Ingredients
1 pkg hot chocolate mix
2 Hershey's Kisses for the eyes
1 Hershey's Hugs for the nose
10-15 mini marshmallows for the snowballs
1 peppermint candy cane (alternate: cinnamon stick)
Directions
Place hot cocoa package, Hershey's Kisses, Hershey's Hugs and mini marshmallows in a plastic bag or cellophane wrap and put in the bottom of a mug. Put the candy cane stick inside or tape it to the outside of the mug. Then add one of the Snowman Soup poems. You can either tie it to the candy cane or stuff it inside the cup. That's it! You're done!
Snowman Soup Poem
Frosty has melted.
It’s sad but true.
But he left a gift for you.
Little white snowballs
And two dark eyes.
And a nose that’s quite tasty.
Just give it a try.
Pour the package into the mug.
And add the eyes and nose.
Use the candy stick to stir.
Then sip it very slow!
(This version of the Snowman Soup poem is available on the Snowman Soup mug shown at the top of this page.)
More Snowman Soup Poems
I found these Snowman Soup poems in a variety of places around the web. As I previously noted, I think it's odd that none of them discusses the ingredients going into Snowman Soup, which is why I wrote my own variation.
Snowman Soup Poem #1
When it's so cold that
you holler and whoop,
It's time to bring out
the Snowman Soup!
Pour the packet in a mug.
Add the marshmallows too.
And throw in these kisses
that are special just for you.
Snowman Soup Poem #2
When the weather outside is frightful,
Snowman Soup can be delightful.
May it warm your spirit and your soul.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
When you feel a chill or are saying "brrrr,"
Use the candy cane stick to stir.
Add hot water and sip it slow.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Snowman Soup Poem #3
Was told that you've been good this year -
Always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near,
You'll need to warm the spirit.
So here's a little Snowman Soup,
Complete with stirring stick.
Just add hot water, sip it slow.
It's sure to do the trick!
