I'm a 40-something writer who never wants to go back to a day job. Been there, done that, and I'd much prefer to stay at home and write articles online.

I have a degree in journalism and actually worked as a reporter for awhile. I quickly discovered, however, that reporters for small weekly papers don't make enough money to live on, so I moved into public relations, which paid better, but it didn't have any soul. So I got out of that, too. I then worked for an Internet company for over a decade before the company went downhill and I found myself trying to make a living with my online writing.

Now I write articles on Squidoo and HubPages. I also run a few websites, including Christmas Letter Tips.com, Santa Letter Templates.com and Underwater Camera Reviews.org.

I haven't led a terribly exciting life, but I have been known to jump out of an airplane to celebrate my birthday, dig ditches in Guatemala with a volunteer group, politely decline a holy man's offer to eat cow dung ashes in India, and almost freak out when left alone in a Chinese police station for over an hour with no passport.

Now I'm a mom of two kids and most of my travels are US-based. I hope my online ventures make it possible for me to stay home with my kids and never go back to the 9-5 grind. Viva la Internet!
